Network Engineer

Your Opportunity

Located in our San Ramon, CA headquarters, you will play a pivotal role as a senior member of the ONAP team. You will be working with dev-ops, product development, infrastructure and business teams to build, automate and scale the global network fabric for some of the largest cloud service providers. You will be the “go to” person for product and operations teams implementing new features, and scaling and automating our ONAP based products and services.

Responsibilities

  • Educate and keep product and operations teams informed on the best practice designs, proper implementations, high-performance optimizations, and troubleshooting skills for managing a global network infrastructure
  • Create design recipes to build scalable, fault-tolerant, and resilient physical, hybrid and software defined networks
  • Accelerate the transformation from datacenter-centric design patterns to elastic, automated, highly-available network infrastructure
  • Implement and monitor the security controls and performance metrics of the network layer, including resiliency checks and failure prediction

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent
  • 10 years experience in designing and maintaining a high-performance global cloud network
  • At least 5 years of expert level experience in provisioning and configuring network constructs (virtual networks, security groups, load
  • balancers, firewalls, DNS, and VPNs) in a cloud infrastructure
  • Experience creating and maintaining metrics to aid in the design, scaling and troubleshooting of cloud networks
  • Experience in SDN, ECOMP, ONAP, VNF a big plus
  • Strong analytical skills, mental resilience and the ability to think systematically under stress
  • Highly accountable and willing to take ownership. Outstanding work ethic, high-integrity, team player, and a lifelong learner
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and work effectively across the organization
  • Comfortable working in an agile DevOps oriented capacity, alongside development partners
